Fall 2024 Internship & Career Expo, Sept. 27

“It can be a very intimidating situation for young students to go through. They’ve never been through it before. There’s a lot of hustle and bustle. There’s lots of conversations going on. So, the trick is to help them get through that and have them become comfortable being uncomfortable. We want them to feel that way, get out of their skin, feel good about who they’re meeting, and learn how to have professional conversations. I can tell you we’re really excited about this event.”
Those are the words of John Sheehy, associate director of Career Success in describing Stetson’s Fall 2024 Internship & Career Expo, Friday, Sept. 27.

And, for good measure, Sheehy added, “I’ve been doing these types of events at Stetson since 2006, and we have probably the most diverse list of employers coming to this event that we ever had before. We have got so many different [careers] areas covered for our students.”
Held in the Hollis Center Fieldhouse, noon to 3 p.m., the annual event is open to all Stetson students, as well as alumni, staff and faculty — notably, also including first-year students, who are encouraged to begin their career exploration. Cultural Credit is available to students, along with free headshot photos.
More than 60 employers and organizations, all looking to hire full-time, part-time and internships positions, are scheduled to exhibit. The exhibitors encompass everything from health care, education, digital arts and insurance to finance, hospitality management, counseling, government, aerospace and more.

“Our Stetson University Fall Internship & Career Expo is going to be bigger and better than ever!,” said Director of Career Success Liz Connor. “We cannot wait for our students, alumni, faculty and staff to connect with so many amazing organizations!”
Student Tips for Attending

* Research employers in advance. Review the list of companies attending the Expo on HatterJobs under the “Events” tab. Try to understand the organization’s mission, values, open positions, etc.
