Registrar Jamie Vanderlip named Woman of Stetson

Dec. 3 marked 12 years since DeLand campus’ Registrar Jamie Vanderlip became part of the Stetson family.
Over her years at Stetson, Vanderlip has received a number of recognitions, including Spirit of Stetson (2018), Faculty Advisor of the Year for Alpha Xi Delta (2017), Enrollment Management MVP (2017), The Good to Great Award (2016), among others.
During the raining evening of Saturday, Nov. 2, a month before her 12th anniversary at Stetson — and right before the Orlando Pride took on the Seattle Reign FC 3-2 at the second Stetson Night in Orlando — Vanderlip added another award to her list: Woman of Stetson.
“Before the game, my niece said it was time to head down to the field to help kick off the game,” she said. “We had no idea what I was going to have to do, but I embraced the moment. It was an incredible special moment because I was able to attend the game with family, including my three children and mom.”

Announced by Nurys, co-host for Johnny’s House on XL106.7, Vanderlip was named Woman of Stetson.
“She shared some kind words provided to her about my work and place at Stetson,” Vanderlip said. “We got the game started with a big ‘Vamos Orlando!’ which reminded me of all the times I’ve heard ‘Go Hatters!’”
According to Abigail Collins, Vanderlip’s niece and coordinator of Stetson’s Career Success, Vanderlip was considered among several other Stetson women, “as we have a vast number of exceptional women across campus who exemplify the community of Stetson.”

“Jamie was nominated for the award due to her perseverance and commitment to Stetson despite the hardships she has faced over the past year or so,” Collins added. “Her story shows how great the community that we have at Stetson is. She is dedicated to our students and has adapted quickly to her newer position as the school’s registrar.”
Vanderlip became registrar on Jan. 3, 2024, after being part of the Enrollment Management team for nine years and the Institutional Research and Effectiveness team for two years.
The award was materialized with flowers, an exclusively branded Stetson/Pride bag and a night celebrating an Orlando Pride win surrounded by the Stetson Community in the Audi suite of the Inter & Co Stadium in Orlando.
“Stetson is an extremely special place,” Vanderlip said. “I am glad to be a small part of its history.”
