Alexander Hamilton Society Welcomes National Expert on International Relations


The Alexander Hamilton Society will host a moderated discussion featuring Zack Cooper, American Enterprise Institute Senior Fellow and former Department of Defense and National Security Council staffer, on Thursday, March 20, at 6 p.m. in the Rinker Welcome Center.
Cultural Credit and free food will be provided.
The talk, titled “A Discussion About Africa, China, and the Impact of the Belt and Road Initiative”, will touch on the implications of the growing Chinese economic influence in Africa for U.S. national security, global stability and the sovereignty of African nations. Students can engage in the realm of international relations and U.S. foreign policy, while gaining valuable insight into the decision-making process of U.S. officials.
Cooper, PhD, serves as chair of the board of the Open Technology Fund and teaches Public and International Affairs at Princeton University. Prior to joining the American Enterprise Institute, he was the senior fellow for Asian security at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS).
After receiving his bachelor’s degree in Public Policy from Stanford University, Cooper graduated from Princeton University with a PhD and an MA in Security Studies and an MPA in International Relations. His published research focuses on a number of aspects of U.S. strategy and alliances in Asia.
