Forbes.com Recognizes Stetson in List of ‘Great Colleges’

Forbes.com: “For a smaller sun soaked college, look at Stetson University in DeLand, Florida … .”

The headline reads: “48 Great Colleges Here And Abroad That Are Still Accepting Applications.”

And the subhead describes: “The traditional May 1 decision deadline has come and gone, but it’s not too late to find a college match — here are dozens of excellent schools still seeking students for the upcoming fall semester.”

On Wednesday, May 7, Stetson University made the list, as revealed on Forbes.com in its Daily Cover Story! According to the Forbes.com website, the Daily Cover Story is viewed by 109.2 million Global Monthly Unique visitors.

Stetson is among “best colleges” for first-year students, according to Forbes.

Words from the article: “For a smaller sun soaked college, look at Stetson University in DeLand, Florida, about a half hour from Daytona Beach and an hour from Disney World. The university enrolls about 3,700 students — two thirds of which are undergraduates — and popular programs include business management, health sciences and digital arts.”

The article noted that as of May 7, 281 colleges were still seeking applicants and, looking to highlight “best colleges” for first-year students, Forbes culled the list for schools that appear on the 2025 Forbes Top Colleges list, as well as the Princeton Review’s 2025 list of Best Colleges.

Stetson made the list — one of only 27 in the United States and the only school in Florida.

“National Decision Day [May 1] is a time of celebration for many students, though for thousands of others they are still in the decision-making process,” explained Jeffery Gates, Stetson’s senior vice president of Enrollment and Marketing. “High school seniors have a lot on their minds — prom, finals, graduation and celebrations of all kinds. The endless questions of where you are going and what you are studying make for a hard decision about college. So, decisions are still being made, and changed, as students are on a timeline all of their own.”
