Three large construction projects are taking shape on the Stetson University campus and will bring exciting updates and additions this academic year, thanks in part to the generous support of donors.

Lynn Hall will offer a mix of attractive living spaces for students, including traditional double-occupancy and individual rooms.

The new 305-bed Lynn Hall is on schedule to open in January 2026 and will enhance the residential living experience for students. Located in the heart of campus, the four-story residence hall also will provide places for students to gather and study, including a great room, courtyard and amphitheater.

A short distance away, work continues on the historical reconstruction of Hulley Tower. The main structure is up and a belfry will soon be added for a new 52-bell carillon. Built in 1934 and rising 116 feet, the tower was damaged by consecutive hurricanes and had to be taken down to its base in 2005.

In 2023, Stetson alumni launched an effort to rebuild the tower and add a new 52-bell carillon in remembrance of three Stetson students who lost their lives in an avalanche in Innsbruck, Austria, during a study abroad trip in 1979.

When completed, Hulley Tower will provide a vibrant space for the community to gather and celebrate.

The project quickly grew beyond rebuilding a historical landmark and has come to symbolize the Soul of Stetson, embodying the values, experiences, people and connections within the Stetson Community. On schedule for completion this winter, the $6.7 million project is funded entirely by alumni and a $500,000 state grant and will provide a vibrant space for the community to gather and celebrate.

Lastly, renovations are underway to the Edmunds Center, the largest venue on campus used for Hatter sporting events,  such as men’s and women’s basketball, and for large university events. The Phase II renovations will be finished this academic year and include a new lobby, offices and elevator.

The three large capital projects come as Stetson has created the new Hatter Ready program that provides all students with experiential learning opportunities — internships, research, study abroad and more — to prepare them for successful careers after graduation.

“This is such an exciting time on the Stetson campus,” said Stetson University President Christopher F. Roellke, PhD. “We have a new residence hall opening this academic year. Renovations are underway on the Edmunds Center, and we soon will complete the historical reconstruction of Hulley Tower with a new carillon.

“We continue to invest in facilities, academics and new programs to ensure Stetson provides the best education and the best college experience for our students,” he said.
