Stetson Athletics Introduces HatterFest

In an effort to continue strengthening the connection between the university and the greater community, Stetson is hosting its inaugural “HatterFest,” a high-spirited communitywide celebration in Downtown DeLand, on Friday, Sept. 19, 6-9 p.m.

The event — free and open to the public — will feature appearances from Stetson sports teams, offering fans the chance to meet their favorite Hatters for autographs, photos and conversations. Also, beloved mascot John B, the Stetson Pep Band and the Hatter cheerleaders will be on hand, along with a DJ providing party music. Meanwhile, Stetson corporate sponsors and community supporters will host interactive exhibits. Plus, an onsite mobile Hatter Ticket Office will enable fans to secure seats for upcoming games, and a merchandise booth will be filled with official Stetson gear from the Stetson University Bookstore.

Ricky Ray: “HatterFest is more than just a pep rally … .”

“HatterFest is more than just a pep rally — it’s a way to unite our student-athletes, university and community in celebration,” said Ricky Ray, Stetson’s director of Athletics. “We’re excited to bring the Stetson spirit to Downtown DeLand and invite everyone to come out, meet the Hatters and join the fun.”

Beginning Aug. 30, the Hatters play seven home games this year at Spec Martin Municipal Stadium, including Friends and Family Weekend, Sept. 20 vs. Harvard; Homecoming, Oct. 25 vs. St. Thomas; and Military Appreciation / Senior Day, Nov. 22 vs. San Diego.

The Stetson football program has introduced several enhancements to create a first-class, affordable and fun gameday experience. Among them are lower ticket prices, free parking with tailgating areas (open four hours prior to kickoff) and HatterZone 2.0 access for $25 (food, drinks and a tented game-viewing area).

Tickets are available online at GoHatters.com/tickets, by calling the Hatter Ticket Office at (386) 738-4287 or via email at [email protected]. In addition to reserved and general admission seating, discounted tickets are available for groups, children ages 12 and under, and seniors 65 and older.
