Stetson Ranked Among Best U.S. Colleges for Veterans

Stetson has been named to Military Times’ “2025 “Best for Vets: Colleges” list, ranking the university among the best colleges in America for veterans and military-connected students. The annual ranking highlights institutions that provide strong support, flexible programs and clear pathways to success for service members, veterans and their families.

“At Stetson, an undergraduate degree is especially valuable for veterans because our small classes and experiential learning opportunities let them interact with professors and classmates on a personal level,” said Christopher Griffin, Stetson’s director of Veteran Services. “Those relationships often become lifelong connections that support them throughout their careers. We pair that personal attention with our dedicated Veterans Services office, priority registration and hands-on help with VA education benefits so our student veterans can focus on their next mission.”
Stetson’s Veterans Services office on the DeLand campus assists student veterans and their families with navigating VA education benefits, connecting with campus resources and finding a supportive community of peers. The office also collaborates with the Student Veterans Organization, academic support services and financial aid staff to streamline the transition from military to college life.

As an added benefit, students from the DeLand campus can visit Stetson University College of Law in Gulfport, Florida, where the Veterans Advocacy Clinic and Veterans Law Institute provide extra support. During these visits, veterans can connect with clinic staff and, under faculty supervision, work with law students who offer free assistance navigating the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs disability benefits system, including gathering evidence and appealing denied claims.
Military Times’ “Best for Vets: Colleges” ranking is an independent resource designed to help service members, veterans and their families identify colleges that invest in their success. The list is based on a detailed survey of colleges and universities, along with public data from the U.S. Department of Education and U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, and is widely regarded as one of the most trusted tools for comparing veteran and military-friendly campuses nationwide.
