Student Involvement Fair A ‘Great Success’
Alex Alvarado, a junior Digital Arts major with a Marketing minor, was present to add 10 to 15 new members to the Stetson HeArts club, with the hope of engaging even students who might have no prior experience in collaborative creative projects.
The Sport Business Association, led by Evelina Okonski, a sophomore Sales and Marketing double-major, connects students with industry opportunities through adviser relationships with organizations that include the Orlando Magic, Jacksonville Jaguars and NASCAR.
The Human Resources Management Club, only two weeks old, was represented by seniors Marina Silva and Madison Johnson, both HR Management majors. They were exhibiting as part of the new club’s initial recruiting phase.

Stetson’s spring Student Involvement Fair, held on Tuesday, Jan. 20, had a little something for everybody — turning Lee’s Garage and the Warren and Barbara Carr Stetson Room into places to find a place on campus. More than 75 student organizations exhibited, providing students with opportunities to discover and get involved (while also offering assorted goodies such as stickers, ice cream, candy and toasted waffles). Exhibitors included club sports, Greek organizations, honor societies, departmental organizations and social organizations. Approximately 550 students attended during the fair’s two hours.
“The Spring Involvement Fair was a great success!” said lead event organizer Steph Lowe, assistant director of Student Organization Financing & Union Operations for Student Development & Campus Vibrancy. “It was wonderful to see our student organizations enthusiastically sharing their work and welcoming new members. We loved watching students connect over shared interests and discover groups that help them be more involved, meet new people and build community on campus.”
To all involved, Lowe offered warm appreciation for the tradition-rich gathering.
“Thank you to all the organizations and students who participated,” she concluded. “This is an event we look forward to every semester!”
