BRIGADE OF ADVENTIST BUILDERS TRAVELED FROM VINNITSA TO DONBASS TO RESTORE HOUSING

Religiia v Ukraine, 5 December 2014

Nine members of an Adventist volunteer brigade went on 18 November to help restore damaged housing in the east of Ukraine. All volunteers responded to the call from the project "Eastern Angel," Religiia v Ukraine reports with reference to the website of Seventh-Day Adventists.

The members of the brigade that was formed in the city of Vinnitsa were pastors, ordinary members of the church, and their friends.

A briefing was conducted by the brigade foreman, Pastor Aleksei Gnatenko: "The goal of our trip is not to make money but to provide charitable aid. It will be necessary to work in much difficulty and therefore I ask you to be prepared for 'spartan' conditions, without complaints and without disagreements."

A prayer of blessing before departure was performed by the president of the Podolia conference, Mikhail Vilchinsky. Local believers remain in expectation of good news from the greatly troubled Donbass. (tr. by PDS, posted 8 December 2014)
