BISHOP OF IVANO-FRANKOVSK AND KOLOMYIA TIKHON PARTICIPATES IN MEETING WITH UKRAINIAN PRESIDENT

During his visit to the Ivano-Frankovsk area on 7 January, Ukrainian President Petro Proshenko met with representatives of various confessions of the province. The Ukrainian Orthodox Church was represented at the meeting by Bishop of Ivano-Frankovsk and Kolomyia Tikhon.
The representatives of the government also included the president of the provincial state administration, Oleg Goncharuk, and the president of the provincial council, Vasily Skripnichuk.
During the conversation, questions about the development of pastoral care in the region were raised. In particular, provincial Governor Oleg Goncharuk noted that the provincial government is open to continual dialogue and effective cooperation with all representatives of the clergy and to support of the religious communities in Carpathia.
