SCHISMATICS SEIZE ORTHODOX CHURCH BUILDING IN WEST UKRAINE
Interfax-Religiia, 6 March 2015
Representatives of the self-proclaimed Kiev patriarchate carried out a violent seizure of the Orthodox church of Saint Paraskeva in the village of Chudnitsa in Rovno province of Ukraine.
The seizure was conducted by several residents of the village who were instigated by priests of the Kiev patriarchate, the website of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church reported on Friday.
A group of men, some of whom were in a state of alcoholic intoxication, insulted parishioners and did not permit them to perform the service. The attackers beat up women who stood in defense of the church and they cut the locks with grinders and took control of the building.
Previously schismatics had often interfered in
the life of the Orthodox parish of the village, but all questions
before had been settled peacefully. (tr. by PDS, posted 6 March
