BELIEVERS IN KIEV PROVINCE PROTECT CHURCH BUILDING FROM SCHISMATICS
Interfax-Religiia, 15 June 2015
Representatives of the self-proclaimed Kiev patriarchate embarked on an attempt to seize the church building in honor of the Holy Trinity in the village of Salivinki of the Vasilkov district in Kiev province.
Local businessmen who sympathize with the schismatics organized a meeting of local residents at which they raised the question about the future fate of the parish, the press service of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church reports.
Members of the "Kiev patriarchate" who have nothing to do with the Orthodox parish came to the meeting.
"The course of the meeting followed tradition, with curses, threats, and insults. However, despite the blackmail and threats by the visiting "performers," the parish of the Holy Trinity church defended their right to be in the bosom of the canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church," the report says.
