JEHOVAH'S WITNESS DISTRIBUTES EXTREMIST MATERIALS IN IVANOVO PROVINCE
On the basis of an order by the Ivanovo transportation prosecutor's office, the founder of a local religious organization of Jehovah's Witnesses in the city of Teikovo was held administratively liable. As the press service of the agency reported, the Ivanovo transportation prosecutor's office for monitoring transport facilities conducted an examination of compliance with legislation in the sphere of combating extremism, during which violations were discovered.
It was established that the founder of the local religious organization of Jehovah's Witnesses in the city of Teikovo distributed printed materials on the territory of the Teikovo railroad station in Ivanovo province, which called for actions aimed at demeaning human dignity on the basis of indicators of attitude toward religion and which had been entered into the federal list of extremist materials of the Ministry of Justice of the Russian federation.
While conducting a search in the place of residence of the founder of said organization, personnel of the Center for Combating Extremism of the UMVD of Russia for Ivanovo province discovered more than 600 publications of a religious nature, more than 10 of which have been ruled extremist materials, the transportation prosecutor's office reports.
An order for opening a case of administrative violation of law, provided by article 20.29 of the Code of Administrative Violations of Law of RF (possession for purposes of mass distribution of extremist materials contained in the published federal list of extremist materials), was issued with regard to the founder of the religious organization of Jehovah's Witnesses in the city of Teikovo, Ivanovo province.
On the basis of the results of its review, the guilty person was held administratively liable in the form of a fine. (tr. by PDS, posted 15 July 2015)
