CHANCE OF OPENING CRIMINAL CASE OVER POGROM IN MOSCOW MANEZH STILL EXISTS

The inquiry regarding the hooliganism committed by "Orthodox activists" in an exhibit in the Manezh is not completed and it has been extended until 13 September, RIAN reports, with reference to a representative of the prosecutor's office of Moscow. It is not ruled out that a criminal case against the leader of God's Will, Enteo, and his companions will still be initiated.
Earlier a source in law enforcement agencies reported that the activists of the Orthodox movement God's Will, who staged a pogrom in an exhibit in the Manezh, will be held accountable only on an administrative charge, allegedly because the position of the prosecutor's office is that it did not see in their actions signs of the criminally punishable action of vandalism.
"The procedural inquiry into a case of hooligan actions in the Manezh is not completed at the present time. The Tver district prosecutor's office of Moscow, which is supervising the course of the procedural inquiry being conducted by the police department, has extended the period of this inquiry up to 30 days, that is, until 13 September," the news agency's interlocutor in the regulatory agency said.
The leader of God's Will, Dmitry Tsorionov, nicknamed Enteo, on 14 August, along with his companions, smashed in the Manezh works of the 1960s and 1970s in an exhibit "Sculptures that we do not see," declaring that they hurt believers' feelings. An administrative case against Tsorionov will be reviewed on 15 September in the Tver court of Moscow.
Previously, Tsorionov has frequently found himself in various sensational situations, while each time he explains his actions by referring to offenses to religious feelings. (tr by PDS, posted 9 September 2015)
