STATE DUMA COMMITTEE ON AFFAIRS OF PUBLIC ASSOCIATIONS AND RELIGIOUS ORGANIZATIONS CHANGES ITS NAME

On Wednesday the State Duma voted to rename the Committee on Affairs of Public Associations and Religious Organizations.
According to the resolution adopted at a session, the committee now will be called the State Duma Committee for Development of Civil Society and Affairs of Public Associations and Religious Organizations.
The State Duma also confirmed that Sergei Gavrilov (KPRF) will remain the chairman of the committee after renaming, and his first deputies will be Dmitry Vyatkin (United Russia) and Ivan Sukharev (LDPR). (tr. by PDS, posted 21 December 2016)
