SOVA Center for News and Analysis, 4 September 2017

On 17 August 2017, around 18:00, in the village of Nikonovskoe (Ramenskoe district of Moscow province) an attack was committed against a 56-year-old Jehovah's Witness.

The local resident approached three adherents of Jehovah's Witnesses who were sitting on a bench and conversing, holding a Bible in their hands. The woman attacker, shouting "Beat it! You were prohibited!," struck one of the Jehovist women on the head with a glass jar. Continuing shouting religious epithets and threats, the attacker scattered the contents of her bag.

First aid stopped the blood flow and took the victim to the hospital, where she was hospitalized with a diagnosis of a blow to the head with brain concussion. A declaration was filed at the police station. (tr. by PDS, posted 4 September 2017)
