Jehovah's Witnesses believe court decision is provoking violence

VANDALISM TO JEHOVAH'S WITNESSES' BUILDING IN IRKUTSK PROVINCE

Jehovah's Witnesses in Russia, 20 September 2017

On 16 September 2017, in the village of Chunskii (Irkutsk province), unidentified persons broke into a building on Mir St., where previously Jehovah's Witnesses' worship services were conducted, chopped down interior doors, broke up sound equipment, damaged security alarms, and also sprayed fire extinguishers around the room. A statement regarding the incident of hooligan activity was filed in the police department.

The building has not been used in any way since the decision of the Supreme Court, which banned the activity of registered organizations of Jehovah's Witnesses. The decision has been appealed to the presidium of the Russian Supreme Court. Believers have no doubts that these and other barbarous actions have been provoked by the groundless decision of the court against Jehovah's Witnesses. (tr. by PDS, posted 20 September 2017)
