Website of Southern Transport Prosecutor's Office, 28 September 2017

The Volgograd transport prosecutor's office conducted a verification of compliance with the requirements of legislation on combating extremist activity.

In the course of the verification it was established that an international postal mailing containing the book "What does the Bible really teach?", published in Pennsylvania (Germany, January 2013), arrived at the address of a woman resident of Volgograd.

According to the Federal List of Extremist Materials, posted on the official website of the Russian Ministry of Justice (http://minjust.ru/ru/extremist-materials), a book titled "What does the Bible really teach?" is included in the aforesaid list. Thus the book is literature that is forbidden for circulation.

On the basis of the results of the verification, the Volgograd transport prosecutor's office opened a case of administrative violation of law against the woman who ordered the book, which is based on article 16.3 of the Code of the Russian federation regarding administrative violations of law (Noncompliance with the bans and restrictions on import of goods onto the customs territory of the Eurasian Economic Union or into the Russian federation that were established by international agreements of member states of the Eurasian Economic Union, or by decisions of the Eurasian Economic Commission, or by normative legal acts of the Russian federation)

In accordance with a decision of the Krasnoarmeisk district court of Volgograd, the women was assessed an administrative penalty in the form of confiscation of the item of administrative violation of law. (tr. by PDS, posted 28 September 2017)
