Another instance of difficulties in use of buildings by protestants

PROSECUTOR'S OFFICE OF KIROV DISTRICT IN ROSTOV-ON-DON DISCOVERS CASE OF USE OF LAND BY RELIGIOUS ORGANIZATION IN VIOLATION OF INTENDED PURPOSE

The prosecutor's office of the district conducted a verification of compliance with the requirements of land legislation, as the result of which there was discovered in the activity of a local organization of Evangelical Christians the fact of the use of land in violation of the established type of designated purpose.

 

On a parcel of land located at the address Rostov-on-Don, Lermontov Street, which is almost 2,000 square meters in area, with a designated use: for use by administrative premises of a palace of culture, which is owned by the Russian federation, there is located a two-story building belonging to the local religious organization of Evangelical Christians.

 

It was established that a part of the nonresidential premises that are not being used by the religious organization for its charter activity was leased out and provided to legal entities for temporary use without charge.

 

Because of the violations of the requirements of current legislation that were discovered, the prosecutor's office of the district initiated cases against the local religious organization of Evangelical Christians and its leader for administrative violations of law on the basis of part 1 of article 8.8 of the Code of Administrative Violations of Law of the RF. On the basis of the results of the consideration of these cases, administrative fines were issued totaling more than 800,000 rubles. (tr. by PDS, posted 19 December 2017)
