DESECRATE SYNAGOGUE AND HOLOCAUST MUSEUM WITH ANTISEMITIC
SLOGANS IN
ODESSA
Yesterday,
25
December, unknown persons desecrated a Holocaust museum and
synagogue with antisemitic
inscriptions in Odessa. This was reported on Facebook by the
director of the
Ukrainian Jewish Committee, Eduard Dolinsky, TSN reports.
He
said that
unknown citizens left the inscriptions "First toast for the
Holocaust" and "Away with Jews. Ukraine for Ukrainians."
On
one of the
photographs over the inscription the symbol for "Idea of the
nation"
is visible, which is frequently used by Ukrainian right-wing
radical
organizations. It is most widely used, in particular, by members
of the "Azov"
separate squad of special purpose of the National Guard of
Ukraine and the
"Civil Corps Azov."
Police have opened criminal proceedings with respect to this incident. (tr. by PDS, posted 26 December 2017)
