A Nizhny Novgorod oblast court left in force a ruling of a Sormovo district court of Nizhny Novgorod according to which a student from Zimbabwe, who invited friends to a concert of African music in a Christians of Evangelical Faith (KhVE) church, must be deported from the country.

In late April 2018 it was learned that on 7 February 2018, a Nizhny Novgorod oblast court confirmed the order of the Sormovo district court of Nizhny Novgorod of 23 January 2018 according to which a student of the Medical Academy, Kudzai Nyamarebva from Zimbabwe, who "preached illegally" in the "Embassy of Jesus" Association of Churches of Christians of Evangelical Faith, should be deported from the country for violation of the rules of her stay in the Russian Federation.

The court found her guilty on part 2 of article 18.8 of the Code of Administrative Violations of Law (violation by a foreign citizen of rules of stay in RF, manifested in activity or occupation conflicting with the declared purpose of entry into the RF actually conducted during a stay in the RF) and ordered a penalty in the form of a fine of 5,000 rubles.

The sixth-year student was fined for inviting friends to a concert of African music that was held in a church of Christians of Evangelical Faith (Pentecostals), which was considered by the court to be missionary activity.

Immediately after the end of classes, that is, after 30 June 2018, the student will be expelled from Russia. (tr. by PDS, posted 24 April 2018)
