Jehovah's Witness ruled to have committed crime on internet

SYZRAN RESIDENT FINED 1,000 RUBLES FOR POSTING EXTREMIST LINK ON SOCIAL NETWORK

A Syzran court considered a case of a local residence who was charged on the basis of article 20.29 of the Code of Administrative Violations of Law of the RF, "Production and distribution of extremist materials." In court it was established that the girl posted on her page in the social network VKontakte an informational post in which there was a link to the website of Jehovah's Witnesses.

 

The latter, by decision of the Judicial College for Civil Cases of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation, was ruled to be extremist material and was entered into the Federal List of Extremist Materials of the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation.

 

In the court session, the girl did not challenge the fact of committing an administrative violation of law and she acknowledged her guilt. In determining the kind and amount of punishment, the court took into account the nature of the violation of law committed, her personality, admission of guilt, and in connection with this it made the decision to be limited to the minimum fine of 1,000 rubles.
