Interfax-Religiia, 12 December 2018
A representative of the patriarch of Constantinople, Metropolitan of Gaul Emmanuel, has already arrived in Kiev for preparation of the unification council.
"Metropolitan Emmanuel flew into Kiev on Tuesday," a source close to church circles told Interfax.
As reported, representatives of noncanonical churches of Ukraine intend to coordinate all necessary questions before the council with its chairman, Metropolitan Emmanuel, and with other sides so that the council will proceed successfully.
The unification council for the creation in Ukraine of a "united local church," independent from the patriarchate of Moscow, is scheduled for 15 December. (tr. by PDS, posted 12 December 2018)
