U.S.A. CONGRATULATES UKRAINE FOR CREATION OF LOCAL CHURCH
The embassy of the U.S.A. in Kiev congratulated Ukrainians for the formation of a local church and Metropolitan Epifany for his election to the office of primate. This was said on the State Department's page on Twitter, UNIAN reports.
In the embassy it was stated that they support the possibility for all Ukrainians to choose independently how to profess their religion.
"We congratulate Ukraine on today's historic council and on the creation of an independent local Ukrainian Orthodox church and we also sincerely congratulate Metropolitan Epifany for his election to the post of primate of the new church," the communication says.
