Pentecostal believer found guilty of violating anti-evangelism law

YUZHNOURALSK RESIDENT FINED FOR CONDUCTING ILLEGAL MISSIONARY ACTIVITY

The prosecutor's office of the city of Yuzhnouralsk conducted a verification of compliance with legislation on freedom of conscience and religious associations.

 

It was established that a citizen of the city of Yuzhnouralsk conducted missionary activity of a religious group of the centralized religious organization of the church of Christians of Evangelical Faith, the New Generation church of Pentecostals, without notification about the creation and start of activity in the department of the Russian Ministry of Justice for Cheliabinsk oblast.

 

The prosecutor of the city opened an administrative case regarding the citizen based on part 4 of article 5.26 of the Code of Administrative Violations of Law of the RF (conducting missionary activity with violation of the requirements of legislation on freedom of conscience and freedom of religious confession and on religious associations).

 

A magistrate judge imposed on him a penalty in the form of an administrative fine of 5,000 rubles. (tr. by PDS, posted 29 December 2018)
