IN ZHITOMIR REGION 3 MORE UPTsMP PARISHES DECIDE TO TRANSFER TO PTsU

On the day of Baptism, 19 January, three religious communities in Zhitomir region decided to transfer from the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate (UPTsMP) into the Orthodox Church of Ukraine (PTsU).
This was reported by the chairman of the Zhitomir provincial administration, Igor Gundich, the press service of the oblast state administration reported.
Gundich said he was talking about parishes of the village of Kishin of Olevsk district, the village of Pavlovka of Pulyny district, and the city of Andrushevka.
Local priests also decided to transfer from the UPTsMP into the newly created autocephalous PTsU at the meeting of the parishes in Kishin and Andrushevka.
In the oblast state administration it was recalled that the religious community of the village of Vorsovka of Malin district was the first in the Zhitomir region to transfer into the PTsU. (tr. by PDS, posted 21 January 2019)
