PRESIDENT TO SIGN LAW GUARANTEEING PEACEFUL AND VOLUNTARY TRANSFERS OF PARISHES INTO PTsU
President Petro Poroshenko thanks the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and its chairman, Andrei Paruby, for parliament's support of his appeal to the ecumenical patriarch about granting a tomos concerning the autocephaly of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine (PTsU) and he accepted the necessary legislative base so that the process of unification into the local Orthodox Church of Ukraine would proceed peacefully.
"In a few days I will sign a law, which will guarantee exclusively peaceful and voluntary transfers of parishes in a clear procedure defined by the law of Ukraine," Petro Poroshenko noted during his speech on Sofia Square on the occasion of Ukrainian Unity Day and the 100th anniversary of the proclamation of the Act of Reunification of the Ukrainian People's Republic and the West Ukrainian People's Republic.
