REGISTRATION OF KIEV METROPOLIA, ADMINISTRATIVE BODY OF ORTHODOX CHURCH OF UKRAINE, BEING COMPLETED
In the near future, the transfer of parishes of the UPTsMP into the PTsU will be legalized. For this the administrative body of the new church, the Kiev metropolia, must be registered. This was stated in a broadcast of one of the Ukrainian television channels by the primate of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, Metropolitan Epifany, UNN reports.
"We will complete the legal formulation in a few days, that is, the administrative body, the Kiev metropolia, will be registered," the head of the PTsU noted.
Now the dioceses of the PTsU will be able to insert changes into the charter and legally register new parishes that are transferring from the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate. (tr. by PDS, posted 29 January 2019)
FORMER UPTsKP AND UAPTs ALSO MUST CONDUCT MEETINGS AND ANNOUNCE TRANSFER INTO PTsU—METROPOLITAN ALEXANDER
Parishes of the former Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Kiev Patriarchate and the Ukrainian Autocephalous Orthodox Church also must conduct meetings of the faithful and decide for joining the new Orthodox Church of Ukraine (PTsU).
This was explained by Metropolitan Alexander in an interview with Priamomu, Channel 24 reports.
He said the religious communities of the former UPTsKP and UAPTs were not automatically transferred into the Orthodox Church of Ukraine.
"They also must reregister and also conduct such meetings as are being conducted these days. They are not automatically merged and included. No. The local council was held and it formed the structure. And parishes must transfer not only from the Moscow patriarchate but also from the Kiev patriarchate and from the UAPTs," Vladyka Alexander emphasized.
In the bishop's opinion, the structure of the diocesan organization of the new church will not change and the diocesan administration will be the same, in accordance with the charter, as it was before. (tr. by PDS, posted 29 January 2019)
KIEV METROPOLIA: EPIFANY POINTS OUT IMPORTANT NUANCE IN PTsU
In the near future the legal formulation of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine (PTsU) will be completed.
This was declared by the head of the PTsU, Metropolitan of Kiev and all-Ukraine Epifany, noting that the administrative body, the Kiev metropolia, will be registered, Interfax-Ukraina reports.
"Consequently, other dioceses will insert changes into their charter and those parishes that transfer from the Russian Orthodox Church into the united local Orthodox church will be legally joined to the new structure," he said.
The metropolitan said that after his enthronement as the primate of the PTsU, corresponding bodies will be created and the first session of the Holy Synod will be held, at which the administrative composition of the church will be formulated.
As Obozrevatel has reported, Epifany's enthronement will occur on 3 February in the cathedral of Holy Wisdom of Kiev and will be conducted in the form of a public liturgy. (tr. by PDS, posted 29 January 2019)
