300 UPTsMP PARISHES HAVE ALREADY TRANSFERRED INTO PTsU
The decision for transfer from the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate (UPTsMP) into the new Orthodox Church of Ukraine (PTsU) has already been made by more than 300 parishes. This is reported by TSN.
Parishes are transferring most actively in the west and center of Ukraine. The north of Ukraine has been significantly activated in the Zhitomir oblast. Transfers are gradually continuing in the south and in the region of the capital. At the same time, in the east of Ukraine the process is happening significantly more slowly, although the first decisions to transfer into the PTsU are being identified in parishes of the UPTsMP in Kharkov oblast.
The most transfers as of the present have been identified in Vinnytsia oblast, although Volyn oblast is catching up with it. Many parishes have also made a decision to transfer into the PTsU in Khmelnitsky, Zhitomir, Rovno, and Lvov oblasts. In particular, in the Sokal district of Lvov oblast, the decision to transfer into the PTsU has been made by absolutely all parishes of the UPTsMP. (tr. by PDS, posted 12 February 2019)
