MONTHS IN SARATOV

On 11 April 2019, the Frunze district court of the city
of Saratov
extended to 12 June the term of detention in custody of
Konstantin Bazhenov,
Feliks Makhammadiev, and Aleksei Budenchuk. Despite the unfair
criminal
prosecution, the believers are maintaining a positive attitude.
In order to support the believers, many of their friends
arrived at the

On 11 April 2019 at one minute after midnight, Sergei
Loginov and
Evgeny Fedin were released from custody; they had been behind
bars since 15
February. Two days earlier, the Surgut city court refused the
investigators'
petition for extending the term of their imprisonment.
The 57-year-old Sergei Loginov is one of seven Surgutians who reported tortures in the building of the Investigative Committee. An appeal was filed in the European Court of Human Rights (No. 10618/19 "Loginov and others v. Russia") regarding what occurred. The ECHR is continuing to review this appeal. SEARCHES AND CRIMINAL CASE FOR FAITH IN KHAKASSIA

In the evening of 10 April 2019, in Abakan, armed law
enforcement
personnel in masks broke into the residences of at least two
families of local
residents who are suspected of professing the religion of
Jehovah's Witnesses.
In the dead of night, upon the conclusion of the searches,
44-year-old Roman
Baranovsky was arrested.
According to preliminary information regarding Roman Baranovsky, a criminal case on part 2 of article 282.2 of the CCRF ("participation in the activity of a liquidated organization") was opened. His mother, who lives with him, was interrogated. . . . (tr. by PDS, posted 12 April 2019)
