UKRAINIAN SUPREME COURT CLOSES CASE ON TOMOS GRANT
This was reported on the court's website.
"The Supreme Court closed the proceedings in the case of
a lawsuit
by religious organizations for annulling the resolution of the
Ukrainian
Verkhovna Rada of 19 April 2018 supporting the appeal of the
president of
Ukraine to Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew for granting a tomos
concerning the
autocephaly of the Orthodox Church in Ukraine," the report says.
It is noted that on 25 April, the Supreme Court
considered the case and
came to the conclusion that it does not have evidence of
administrative
jurisdiction.
As of now, only the operative portion of the decision
has been
announced, and the full text of the resolution is expected
within five days.
We recall that a representation by 47 people's deputies had been registered on the website of the Ukrainian Constitutional Court regarding the conformity with the Ukrainian constitution (constitutionality) of the resolution of the Ukrainian Verkhovna Rada "On support of the appeal of the Ukrainian president to Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew regarding granting a tomos concerning the autocephaly of the Orthodox Church in Ukraine" of 19 April 2018.
