VLADYKA FILARET ASSURES PHANAR OF SUPPORT FOR
METROPOLITAN EPIFANY
On 23 May, on the website Fanarion, there appeared the
text of an
official release of the ecumenical patriarchate on the results
of a meeting on
22 May of its representatives—Metropolitan of Gaul Emmanuel and
the second
secretary of the Holy Synod, Deacon Grigory—with Vladyka
Filaret.
It was reported in Constantinople: "Honorary
Metropolitan Filaret,
formerly of Kiev, assured His Holiness through his
representatives that he
continues, despite an attempt to create from outside an
atmosphere of division,
to support His Beatitude Metropolitan of Kiev and all-Ukraine
Epifany, who also
is his spiritual son, and he maintains vigilance and a lively
interest in the
course of affairs of the church of Ukraine."

Delegation of the ecumenical patriarchate in Ukraine
On the occasion of the name day of His Beatitude
Metropolitan of Kiev
and all-Ukraine Epifany, a delegation of the ecumenical
patriarchate traveled
to Kiev in order to honor the first name days of the primate
of the new church.
Within the context of this visit, Metropolitan of France
Emmanuel and Deacon
Grigory, the second secretary of the Holy and Sacred Synod,
met with Honorary
Metropolitan Filaret, formerly of Kiev.
During the cordial meeting with him, the hierarch of
the church of
Ukraine once again thanked His Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch
Bartholomew for
his parental love and benevolent activity with regard to the
Ukrainian people
and also for the bold defense of its historic and canonical
duties of the
Constantinople See.
He also assured His Holiness through his representatives that he continues, despite the attempt to create from outside an atmosphere of division, to support His Beatitude Metropolitan of Kiev and all Ukraine Epifany, who also is his spiritual son, and he maintains vigilance and a lively interest in the course of affairs of the church of Ukraine.
