HONORARY PATRIARCH FILARET TO CONDUCT MEETING OF CAPITAL CLERICS OF THE P.Ts.U. AT WHICH HE WILL TRY TO REVIVE PATRIARCHATE
Credo.Press, 3 June 2019
The honorary patriarch of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine (PTsU), Filaret, will conduct a meeting on 3 June of all Kiev clerics of the PTsU who belonged before December 2018 to the UPTsKP. PTsU Bishop Adrian wrote about this on his blog, Glavkom reports.
"Priests are calling me, the rectors of Kievan churches, who still (formally) are under the leadership of the former metropolitan of Kiev, Filaret (the honorary patriarch), with the question: 'Vladyka, Filaret has summoned all priests of Kiev to his office at 36 Pushkin on Monday at 11:00. He will demand (blackmail, intimidation, threats) of us that we sign an oath of loyalty to the UPTsKP and to him personally as patriarch of the Kiev patriarchate. What should we do?'" the PTsU bishop writes.
At the same time he notes that churches in the capital are under Filaret's leadership only formally. He advised priests to decide for themselves whether to follow Filaret, who wants to revive the UPTsKP, or to remain in the recognized church.
As reported earlier, Filaret considers that the
Kiev patriarchate continues to exist. His position is not shared
by the PTsU Synod, the majority of its bishops, and competent
bodies of government of Ukraine, and also by the ecumenical
patriarchate, which granted autocephaly to the PTsU. (tr. by PDS,

VLADYKA FILARET ASKS PRIESTS NOT TO COMMENT FOR NEWS MEDIA ON TODAY'S MEETING
RISU, 3 June 2019
Decisions were made at the meeting, but Honorary Patriarch Filaret asked to withhold comments from the press. This was reported by Glavkom.
On Monday, 3 June, a meeting of priests of the Kiev diocese of the PTsU was held with Honorary Patrirch Filaret.
As the rector of the chapel of the Presentation on Lvov Square in Kiev, Archpriest Sergei, reported, none of its participants signed any documents. He also said that no decisions about the Feodosey monastery were made.
We recall that today people's deputy Andrei Lozovoi (of the Radical Party) wrote in Facebook that there may occur an attempt today to seize the Feodosey monastery, located next to the Kiev caves lavra.
"Indeed, decisions were made, but His Holiness asked everybody to refrain from comments for the press," Archpriest Sergei said.
The abbot of the Feodosey monastery, Makary, said, in response to a question about whom people depicted in Andrei Lozovoi's photograph were protecting the monastery from: "Today is Andrei Lozovoi's birthday. So maybe he went to pray."
Before this it was also reported that after the meeting, Filaret may go to the Feodosey monastery. But Abbot Makary denied this.
recall that yesterday there appeared a report that Honorary
Patriarch Filaret was convening the priests of Kiev supposedly
with a demand that they swear loyalty to the Kiev patriarchate.

FILARET CONVENES MEETING OF CLERGY
Religiia v Ukraine, 3 June 2019
[. . .] As the publication Cerkvarium learned, on 3 June Filaret ordered all clergy of the Kiev diocese to gather at his residence (36 Puskin St.). "The goal of the event was to force the signing of an oath of loyalty to Filaret himself. The invitation was not formally documented," the publication writes.
According to Cerkvarium's information, the notice was delivered to each priest by telephone by Archbishop of Vyshgorod Agapit, the abbot of the St. Michael's Golden Dome monastery, a member of the Holy Synod of the PTsU. "There is information that it is planned, without the consent of Metropolitan of Kiev and all-Ukraine Epifany, to appoint a new abbot of the Vydubintsky monastery. After rumors circulated about the possible seizure by supporters of Filaret of the Feodosey monastery, with the goal of removing the abbot, Archimandrite Makary, according to a report by Andrei Lozovoy, male parishioners assembled in front of the gates in order to defend their church. Now, according to Cerkvarium's sources, Archimandrite Makary has refused to fulfill Filaret's demand. The next event, under the title of a "People's Church Council," under the leadership of Metropolitan Filaret, is planned for 11 June. (tr. by PDS, posted 3 June 2019)
