Belarusian
President
Alexander Lukashenko declared that nothing will block
Belarusians on Easter,
and he himself will go to church for a service.
"Whoever
wants
to, will worship and go to the church. I will be in church. That
is my
tradition. I rarely go to church, but for Christmas and Pascha I
am always in
church. Usually I go out to the regions and I am in these small
churches,"
Lukashenko said, who was quoted by the state BelTA agency.
"I
stress again:
we will not close the road to the church for anybody. That is my
stern
requirement. We do not prevent anybody anything. We brought this
to the
leadership of all churches and confessions, including the
Orthodox
church," he declared.
At the
same time,
Lukashenko urged the clergy to conduct the sermon outside, near
the church, and
also to place tables there for blessing eggs and kulich.
