VLI’s Morgan Zimarakos to Lead National Veterans Consortium

Starting on June 10, 2025, Stetson Law alumna, adjunct professor, and Veterans Law Institute (VLI) Associate Director Morgan Zimarakos ’20 will begin her new role as president of the National Law School Veterans Clinic Consortium.
The organization supports veterans law clinics at law schools across the country and advocates for policy reform and legislation that benefit those who have served our nation. Zimarakos has served on the consortium’s Board of Directors for the last two years. As president during the third of the three-year board term, she will guide the organization as it endeavors to continue this work and create impact on a national scale.
Law Professor and VLI Director Stacey-Rae Simcox was a cofounder or the nonprofit, and Stetson’s own VLI was one of the NLSVCC’s first members.
“It is an honor to continue Stetson Law’s involvement with this important organization,” Zimarakos said. “The Consortium was instrumental in my development as a veterans law attorney and a clinician, and I am looking forward growing further as a leader in this new role. I am passionate about the work we do an I am up for the challenge.”
Her involvement with the organization has included writing amici briefs, participating in a national bootcamp, and working with faculty at other clinics to produce academic scholarship and develop clinical pedagogy.
The organization’s biennial conference is organized by the conference committee. In June of 2026, Stetson Law will host that event, which is the NLSVCC’s first in-person conference since before the Covid-19 pandemic.
