Stetson Creates New Public Service Scholarship

Stetson University College of Law has created a new Public Service Scholarship to be awarded annually that will cover full tuition for one student’s last two semesters.

The scholarship will be awarded based on a demonstrated history of public service and on the selected student’s intention to engage in public service law upon graduation. Public service law is broadly defined to include employment with U.S. or international nonprofit organizations, government service, and law firms whose primary mission is serving the public interest or under-represented clients.

“This scholarship was created to ease the burden of high debt faced by students upon graduation,” said Laura Zuppo, executive director of admissions and financial aid. “Students can go into public service fields without feeling nervous that they will not be able to pay their monthly loan payments.”

The deadline to apply for the Public Service Scholarship is March 16, 2009. For more information or to obtain an application, please contact the Office of Admissions and Financial Aid at [email protected].
