Student affairs leader presents on “Exploration of past protest to inform current advocacy”

Assistant Dean for Student Affairs/Deputy Title IX Coordinator and adjunct professor Tammy Briant presented on “Exploration of past protest to inform current advocacy” at the American Association of University Professors national conference meeting in Washington, D.C.

Tammy Briant presented at AAUP.

Briant, who teaches Stetson’s course on Law and the Civil Rights Movement, said that she looked at the lessons of the Civil Rights Movement that might be applied to current campus advocacy for her presentation.

She co-presented with University of Iowa Professor David McCartney who discussed a website created to highlight Iowa and the University of Iowa’s participation in the Civil Rights Movement.
