Human Rights Teach-In

Eighteen of Professor Beane’s international human rights law students met with nine Thurgood Marshall middle-schoolers to share ideas about how lawyers can do the important work of helping people around the globe protect themselves from being victims of discrimination.

Jason Palmer

On October 27, Professor Palmer presented at the 2009 Fall Meeting of the ABA International Law Section on a panel titled "Associates Boot Camp: Nuts and Bolts of Drafting for Clients." The presentation was directed to young lawyers and focused on tips for interviewing clients and witnesses and communicating with those individuals in a professional and competent manner through well-written and organized letters and emails.


Luz Nagle

Professor Nagle has been appointed by the Governor as the permanent designee for the Florida Coalition Against Human Trafficking on the Governor's Task Force on Human Trafficking, which convened last Friday in Miami.

Michael Rustad

Professor Rustad is the co-recipient of this year's Charles P. Kindregan Award for Extraordinary Contributions to Advanced Legal Studies and to Continuing Legal Education at Suffolk University.


Ann Piccard

Yesterday, Professor Piccard attended the Law & Economic Mobility conference at American University’s Washington College of Law. She her paper-in-progress, which is tentatively titled “The International Covenant on Economic, Social, and Cultural Rights: Can an International Instrument Address Economic Injustice in the United States?”


Gregory Carroll Named New Stetson University Vice President for Marketing

On Nov. 1, Gregory Carroll will join Stetson University as the new vice president for marketing, leading an initiative to unify the university’s marketing and public relations across Stetson’s campuses.


Ellen Podgor

On October 23, 2009, Professor Podgor spoke at the University of Chicago Law School symposium on Crime, Criminal Law, and the Recession. Her topic was "White Collar Crime and the Recession: Was the Chicken or Egg First?"
