On October 23, 2009, Professor Podgor spoke at the University of Chicago Law School symposium on Crime, Criminal Law, and the Recession. Her topic was "White Collar Crime and the Recession: Was the Chicken or Egg First?"

On October 24, Professor Rose addressed the University Trustees on experiential learning opportunities at the College of Law.

On Oct. 22, the entire student body at Stetson University College of Law in Gulfport, Fla., devoted a day to serving their community during the law school’s first Legal Community in Action Day: Serving the Public, Serving the Law and Serving the Profession.

Yale Law School professor Jules L. Coleman presented the distinguished Nichols Lecture on Oct. 21.

Professor Palmer's article, "Transnational Mass Claims Procedures in International Law and Practice," co-authored with Arturo Carrillo, will be published by Berkeley Journal of International Law in its Spring 2010 issue.

Stetson Law students won the Veterans Law Appellate Advocacy Competition in Washington, D.C.

Professor Carolan spoke at the Academy of Legal Studies in Business, in Denver, on "Potential Impact of Prop 8 on the California [Gay] Tourism Industry: A Preliminary Qualitative Investigation."

Professor Kelley spoke at the UCLA/BYU Conference, "The Pedagogy of Interviewing and Counseling II: Continuing the Quest for Improved Methodology," on Oct. 16-17, at UCLA. She spoke during a plenary session on a panel titled "Teaching Interviewing, Counseling and Other Practice Skills." She also participated in the "Teaching Methods Group" breakout session.

Who has been selected to speak at the Annual meeting of the Association for Law, Property, and Society, to be held March 5-6, 2010 at Georgetown Law School.

Earlier this month, Professor Nagle attended the International Bar Association conference in Madrid. In addition to having organized several sessions as the co-chair of the criminal law section, she also spoke on two panels: one on gangs as an international security threat and another on corporate responsibility in human trafficking. She also participated in an international rule of law session with Judge Garzon of Spain and other prominent international jurists. She also will speak at the ABA's 19th Annual Review of the Field of National Security Law in mid-November.

On October 9th, Professor Podgor spoke at a Symposium at Southwestern University Law School on the topic of the Exclusionary Rule. On October 16, she spoke on a panel at the 4th Annual ABA Securities Fraud Conference related to blogging and securities fraud.
