Now she'll work on completing her doctoral thesis, which will be a rhetorical analysis of the FMLA, surrounding cases, and public discussion in an effort to better understand how the language of those texts structures worker/family member identities.


Roy Gardner and Luz Nagle

Roy has organized the following panel for the ABA International Law Section's October 2007 meeting in London. Luz is one of the panelists for the program. October 3 2:15 pm - 3:45 pm Wetlands in War: International Environmental Law and Damages to Aquatic Resources during Conflict Public Law As recent events have demonstrated, the environment is also an unfortunate casualty of war. This panel of experts will review legal and policy issues associated with damage to wetlands and related ecosystems arising from transboundary and internal conflicts, including the relevance of the Ramsar Convention on Wetlands, damage claims from the first Gulf War, the draining of the Mesopotamian Marshlands by Saddam Hussein, and the impacts on water quality from cocaine production in South America.
