Hagar Qim Temple, Malta
The Hagar Qim temple complex on Malta’s south end was built between 3600-3200 b.c.e. Today, the complex is a World Heritage Site. This trilithon entrance on the temple’s facade opens into a passage that leads into the center of the complex. It is built of limestone and may have been a site for animal sacrifice, oracles, and various offerings.
