A Message from the Dean

As another academic year is coming to an end, we have a lot to celebrate and to be proud of.  From the remarkable achievements of our students who won regional, national, and world competitions to the award-winning work of our faculty, the School of Business Administration has been the epicenter of creativity and intellectual growth.

I am thrilled with the accomplishments of our students as they embrace the opportunities afforded to them, and humbled by the dedication of my colleagues, faculty and staff, who work tirelessly to support them.

I hope you will enjoy reading the highlights of these accomplishments, and you will share my pride and optimism for the School of Business Administration!.

Stetson University Celebrates Success at Orlando Pride Match

On April 19th, the Stetson University community, under the coordination of the Sport Business Program, united for Stetson Night at the Orlando Pride soccer match . An excellent turnout of students, faculty, alumni, and friends, celebrated the exemplary leadership of two distinguished women head coaches from Stetson University Athletics; Lynn Bria (head women’s basketball coach) and Kristina Hernandez (head coach of beach volleyball).

We extend our sincerest gratitude to the Orlando Pride and Orlando City Soccer Club for their gracious hospitality and for making “Stetson Night” an extraordinary occasion. Beyond being a memorable evening for our community, this event also served as a hands-on project for students enrolled in the sales course. Under the mentorship of our faculty, our students sold over 250 tickets for “Stetson Night,” showcasing their expertise and dedication to bolstering our university’s athletic programs.

“We are so proud of Coach Bria and Coach Hernandez,” said Stetson President Christopher F. Roellke, PhD. “They have built enormously successful programs at Stetson that allow our female athletes to compete at the highest levels and continue to help grow the popularity of women’s sports.”

Paul Dasher, PhD Named Dean Emeritus

In what was a very emotional ceremony during the last Honors Banquet, Dr. Paul Dascher was recognized as the first Dean Emeritus of Stetson University for  his countless contributions to the institution and in particular to the School of Business Administration.
Paul served as Dean of the School of Business Administration from 1993 to 2004. During his tenure, among many other achievements, he led the school to achieve accreditation from the prestigious Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB). His focus on fundraising and endowment was instrumental to Stetson’s acquisition of the building now known as the Lynn Business Center.
During this event, Dean Bakamitsos invited Paul to unveil a portrait of himself, which, in Bakamitsos’s words, “will remain in the Dean’s office as a reminder to all future deans of what greatness looks like”.

Congratulations, Dean Emeritus Dasher, on this honor.
