This year, the JJ Master Center for Professionalism has concluded its ninth professionalism certificate program. Offering students and the community the opportunity to sharpen their professional skills, the center continues to have a profound impact on students’ lives and maintains its partnership with the community through Leadership West Volusia.
In November, the center graduated 46 participants, with 21 being Stetson undergraduate students, one Stetson graduate student, and 24 local business executives, employees and community leaders.
“Participating in the JJ Master Professionalism Certificate Program was one of the most enriching experiences of my college career,” said Aaliyah Erdman, a junior and triple major in the School of Business.
During the fall semester, the center was honored to host Sean Tamm ’09, an alumnus, College of Arts and Sciences trustee, and local business leader, and Declan Link, a local independent recruiter and business owner.
Tamm presented aspects of professional organization and highlighted the need to build and earn trust. Link shared practical lessons and insight into the world of job hunting, candidate searching, resumes and personal branding.
“When I first started the JJ Master Certificate Program, I honestly didn’t know what to expect. I figured it would just be another program to check off my list, but it turned out to be so much more,” said Carlee McKinney, a Partner Development Coordinator with the West Volusia Tourism Advertising Authority.
As we look forward, the center continues to engage valued alumni who offer potential, insight and opportunities for program expansion. The program is finalizing Spring 2026 applications, which are also open to graduate students. Apply Here
