Stetson University’s Sport Business Program had a busy semester of panels, guest speakers and special events. Throughout the fall, Hatters had the opportunity to attend a Jacksonville Jaguars game, engage with NASCAR executives and learn about what it means to work in the sport industry from experts at Orlando City and Pride.  

These opportunities provided the students with meaningful, real-world experiences that continue to strengthen the program’s industry partnerships and enhance its quality. 

In November, a group of over 25 students attended the Los Angeles Chargers vs Jacksonville Jaguars game, in which the Jaguars secured an impressive 35-6 victory. Coined as “Stetson Day” at the Jaguars stadium, the students were able to observe key elements of game-day operations, fan engagement strategies and the overall business side of professional football — all while having fun during Sunday football.  

Earlier in the semester, the students also had the opportunity to meet with NASCAR executives as the Sport Business Program hosted a NASCAR Day panel discussion. During this event, students gained valuable insights into the motorsports industry and enjoyed personalized interactions with leaders across marketing, operations and sponsorship, providing a truly unique learning opportunity.  

Finally, the program also welcomed Chelsea Herman, a Sales Academy Manager from Orlando City and Orlando Pride as a guest speaker. The students were able to hear about Chelsea’s successful career, as well as her perspective on community engagement and the pathways for a solid career in the sport industry. This visit showcases Stetson’s Sport Business Program’s strong relationship with one of the most respected sports organizations in Central Florida and a growing force in the world of professional soccer.  

These experiences reflect our ongoing commitment to connecting students with influential leaders and meaningful industry exposure. We look forward to continuing to build on this momentum throughout the upcoming semester!
