Stetson’s School of Business participated once again in the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program administered by the United Way of Volusia-Flagler. We extend our gratitude to the volunteers who dedicated their time and expertise to this cause under the coordination of Prof. Marianne Blair. Their commitment exemplifies the spirit of service and generosity that defines the Hatter Community.

Here are the remarkable results from Stetson School of Business Administration’s participation in the VITA Program: 

• 285 Returns Processed: Our volunteers processed and transmitted 285 tax returns to the IRS, comprising 8 paper filings and 277 e-files.
• Diverse Volunteer Base: A total of 31 undergraduate and one graduate student volunteers contributed their time and skills to the program. Additionally, five faculty and staff members volunteered their expertise.
• Community Volunteers: Two community volunteers, including Bonnie Halloway, who coordinated the program at Stetson for the last Thirteen years, and Stetson Grad, Jeff Fergerson, were instrumental in supporting our efforts.
• Our volunteers collectively contributed over 600 hours of their time throughout the season, with an average of 36 hours per student volunteer to meet ELR requirements. The faculty, staff, and community volunteers contributed an additional 300 hours, demonstrating their dedication to serving the population.
