In February, students taking the ENTP 452 Hatter Angel Network (HAN) course attended the Florida Venture Forum in Coral Gables. The event had about 60 companies seeking funding from $500,000 to $5 Million.
During their time at the conference, the students did thorough due diligence and recommended two companies to the Hatter Angel Network at their end-of-semester presentation on April.
On top of that, the HAN also added five new alumni to its cohort in order to expand their investment capacity. In a combination of classroom learning, alumni mentoring and hands-on experience, the Hatter Angel Network offers students a unique experiential learning opportunity on how to navigate the world of venture capital and investing.
To date, the Network has invested over $1.6 million in 12 companies, with several participating students having observed board seats on a number of these companies.
