Stover Theater announces 2011-12 season

Stetson University’s Stover Theatre announces four productions for the 2011-12 academic year – the theatre’s 106th season.

Almost Maine, by John Cariani, will run Sept. 22-25, 2011, at Stover Theatre, 535 N. Florida Ave., on the Stetson campus. Performances will be at 8 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, Sept. 22-24, and 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 25. Admission will be $10 general admission; $8 for senior citizens and non-Stetson students. Stetson students, faculty and staff will be free with valid Stetson I.D.

The Foreigner, by Larry Shue, in collaboration with the Sands Theatre Company at the Athens Theatre, will run Nov. 3-6 and Nov. 10-13, 2011, at the Athens Theatre, 124 N. Florida Ave. in downtown DeLand. Performances will be at 7:30 pm. Thursday through Saturday, Nov. 3-5, and Thursday through Saturday, Nov. 10-12. Performances on Sunday, Nov. 6, and Sunday, Nov. 13, will be at 2:30 p.m. Admission will be $16 for adults; $14 for seniors; and $10 for non-Stetson students. Stetson students, faculty and staff will be free with valid Stetson I.D. Lysistrata, by Aristophanes, will run Feb. 23-26, 2012, at Stover Theatre on campus. Performances will be at 8 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, Feb. 23-25, and 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 26. Tickets will be $10 general admission; $8 for seniors and non-Stetson students. Stetson students, faculty and staff will be free with valid Stetson I.D.

Student-Directed One Acts, will run April 19-22, 2012, at Stover Theatre on campus. Performances will be at 8 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, April 19-21, and 3 p.m. Sunday, April 22. Admission will be $10 general admission; $8 for seniors and non-Stetson students. Stetson students, faculty and staff will be free with valid Stetson I.D.

Stover Theatre is located on the Stetson campus at 535 N. Florida Ave., DeLand. Parking is free. Box Office hours are 3 to 5 p.m. weekdays, usually starting Monday the week of each show, and tickets are available at the door. (Phone: 386-822-8700).
