Exploring Israeli-Palestinian conflict

The Cross-Cultural Center, the Jewish Student Organization (Hillel), the Chaplain’s Office, the Department of International Learning, the College of Arts and Sciences, and the Diversity Council are co-sponsoring a workshop on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 24.

The workshop will be held in the Stetson Room of the Carlton Union Building, 131 E. Minnesota Ave., DeLand, and is free and open to the public.

The workshop will be led by two facilitators from Abraham’s Vision, a conflict transformation organization that explores group and individual identities through experiential and political education. Examining social relations within and between Israeli and Palestinian communities, Abraham’s Vision empowers participants to practice just alternatives to the status quo. The workshop will build a civil, educational dialogue to explore questions such as what it means to delegitimitize and demonize the other as well as attempt to build trust for those engaged around this issue.
