Teachers who make a difference in their students’ lives and campaign finance reform led the news for Stetson this week. Notable national and regional placements include MLB.com, American Constitution Society, Huffington Post, Daytona Beach News-Journal, Tennis News, and Hometown News. Top stories for July 10-14, 2014, include:

  • Stetson alumna Alison Kearney was one of 30 teachers honored by Major League Baseball at this year’s All-Star game for making a difference in the lives of her students and community. The teachers were recognized at this year’s All-Star Game on July 15 for dedication to the classroom and their impact on students. The All-Star Teacher Contest, co-sponsored by People magazine, allowed fans nationwide to cast votes for a pool of 90 finalists. One winner represented each MLB team and Kearney represented the Tamp Bay Rays.
