Stetson University’s Friends of Music invite all faculty, students, staff and members of the public, to the 2015-16 Friends of Music Recital, held each year in celebration of the beginning of the new academic year. This year’s concert will be at 7:30 p.m., Friday, Aug. 21, in Lee Chapel, inside Elizabeth Hall, located at 421 N. Woodland Blvd., on Stetson’s DeLand campus.

Admission is complimentary. After the concert everyone is invited to a reception in the duPont-Ball Library; light refreshments will be offered.

The program for the evening includes Johann Sebastian Bach’s Choräle von verschiedener Art, performed by Boyd Jones, organ; 2+1 by Ivan Trevino, performed by Noel Painter and Marja Kerney, marimba; Images, 2^nd ser. by Claude Debussy, performed by Michael Rickman, piano; Romansy, Op. 34 by Sergei Rachmaninoff and Apollo and Daphne by Kari Juusela, performed by David Bjella, cello and Michael Rickman, piano; and finally, Carmen fantaisie, Op. 25 by Pablo de Sarasate, performed by Routa Kroumovitch-Gomez, violin with Michael Rickman, piano.
